How do you update a sucessful but out-dated product and improve the perception of quality? I updated the Kodak Picture Maker Kiosk to focus on the user's own images, not the user interface.
The redesign reduced visual clutter and shifted the focus to user content.
Early design explorations and discussions were facilitated by simplified wireframes.
The original design was dated-looking and over-designed.
Iterative designs and user studies yielded an increased perception of quality more than 20% over the previous design.
